Ryan Mateo

February 1st , 2019 Friday 5:30am

We just dropped Camila off by my brother & sister in laws house and are on our way to the hospital.

We check into Baylor Scott & White Medical Center to get induced to have Baby Falavinha.

My mom and dad arrive to the hospital from New Orleans after driving 8hrs.

My parents are the best for making their way out here on this special day.

Yes, I did make sure my hair & makeup was done since I was scheduled to get induced.

So the plan was to get induced and have baby vaginally but since the cord was wrapped around his neck twice everything changed.

His heart rate dropped quickly from 140bpm down to 30bpm. I remember the nurses and my doctor putting the mask on me and telling me to breathe. The last thing I remember is being brought to the operating room and asking where Matt was ?

I’m assuming since they put me completely under anesthesia that he wasn’t allowed into the operating room. Which sucks because he was robbed the beautiful moment Ryan was born. He didn’t hear his first cry and wasn’t able to hold him right away. He also didn’t know anything about me or how I was doing.

I can’t even fathom what was running through his mind or what he was feeling.

Matt was finally updated and told that baby was doing great and that I was in recovery but still doing okay.

Ryan Mateo Falavinha.

5 lbs 14 oz.

19.25 inches long.

I was way out of it to see Ryan from being out completely under anesthesia and the epidural.

My mom tried to get me to open my eyes but I just wasn’t able to.

I also told Matt to not post any pictures on social media…. I wanted to be able to see my son before the rest of the world saw him.

I didn’t want the world to see him before I did. Matt did honor my wishes even though it was 2 days later I finally was able to see Ryan.

Now I’m just trying to recover from my emergency C-section. It was not how I pictured delivering Ryan but it was for his and my health.

Overall he was worth every second and I wouldn’t change a thing.
