7 Days of Self Care

There are over 20.3 million hashtags/posts with the word self care. Are we doing this for the gram or because we actually know that we NEED to give ourselves the care we deserve ?

I want to challenge you to a 7 day self care challenge. That in return will inspire you in all aspects of your life. I want to encourage you to practice self-grace in a digital world that sets constant standards of perfection in all areas: bodies, careers, motherhood, exercise, food, family, etc. We are not perfect and everything on social media is not what is seems.

There are so many simple & inexpensive ways to practice self care that can enrich your life.

Self care is not just about treating your MIND, BODY, & SOUL; it’s about treating yourself with kindness, grace, and compassion.

SUNDAY: nourish + eat well

Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the week. Preparing meals ahead of time helps you feel less overwhelmed when it comes to food. Throw some granola bars in your purse for an on the go snack.

Drink lots of water also. You have to stay hydrated. Besides, water is so beneficial to your body.

You can have yourself a cheat meal also. Eat that ice cream or have another piece of cake girl.

MONDAY: tech detox + be creative

This one is especially hard for me since I always grab my phone first thing in the morning. Let’s start by putting down the phone and turning the TV off. We’re all guilty of mindlessly scrolling instagram, facebook, pinterest, & etc. You could literally be doing so many other things, like connecting with friends and family.

I challenge you to connect with your creativity.

Listen to your favorite playlist, read that book that’s been collecting dust on your nightstand, paint a painting. Do something that peaks your interest.

TUESDAY: pamper yourself

Giving myself a little TLC is always my favorite. Start by slathering on a face mask, take a warm bubble bath with some epsom salts, put on a hair mask, and have yourself a glass of wine. Another way I love to pamper myself is by getting a mani/pedi.

WEDNESDAY: move your body

Time to celebrate your body by treating it good. Excercise creates endorphins and just a little bit of movement will help you feel happier. Excercise can actually help treat anxiety and depression.

MOVE YOUR BODY !

Try out that yoga class, walk around the city, go for a hike, try a brazilian jiu jitsu class, or even go rockclimbing. Get your blood flowing – you’ll feel AMAZING !

Plus your body will thank you.

THURSDAY: night time routine

Go to bed early. Simple night time routines can help create a peaceful sleep enviroment for the evening. Put some lavender into your diffuser, read a book, do a night time skincare routine, try some CBD oil, and drink some chamomille tea to wind down for the night. You could also play some white noise or soothing sounds. You’ll be out and sleeping in no time.

FRIDAY: treat yo self

Treat yourself babe. You deserve it. Eat those beignets. Have yourself all the mimosas. Get in the car and let Target tell you what you need (haha). Get that haircut or a massage. Put those freshly cleaned bedsheets onto your bed. Or take a mini road trip.

Do whatever feels good to you !

Treat yourself to something big or small and enjoy it.

SATURDAY: lets get social

Invite your friends and family over for game night. Check out that new trendy taco bar. Go play some mini golf. Go check out a soccer game. Or just dance the night away. Be with people that make you happy.
